The Creator, The Creation & The Created Part 2

Preaching The Grace Of God - From The King James Bible
Dispensationally Delivered
Berean Bible Church – Edgewater, Florida

Gen 1:1  In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Gen 1:8  And God called the firmament space Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.  Gen 1:14  And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:  15  And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.  16  And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.  17  And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, 18  And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

2 Pet 3:10  But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.   12  Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

Last time we talked about the Creator…

We looked at the Goldilocks Zone – The Just Rights of the universe.

The Sun

  • Not to close
  • Not to far
  • Just Right

The Moon

  • Not To Big
  • Not to small
  • Just Right

Jupiter

  • Right place
  • Right size
  • Just Right

The mass of the Earth

  • Not to big
  • Not to small
  • Just Right

The Planetary Orbits Are Just Right As Well!

Quote Kaku: “To some, this is evidence of a deity who has deliberately arranged the laws of nature to make life, and us, possible.  But to other scientists, it means we are the by-product of a series of lucky accidents.”

Rom 1:22  Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

Rom 1:23  And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

Rom 1:28  And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient

Stretching the Heavens

Do you understand the universe to be over 15 billion years old?

Or, do you believe the universe was created in six days less than 10,000 years ago?

If you believe the latter, was the light that appears to have traveled millions of light-years created in transit?

Were aging factors “built-in”?

Were the “days” of Genesis actually geologic ages?

The Nature of Time

This issue of the age of the universe hangs on the very nature of the dimension of time, which we are just beginning to understand.

Einstein’s Theory of General Relativity states that we exist in more than three dimensions; time itself is a physical property, and actually varies with mass, acceleration, and gravity.

There are atomic clocks installed at both the National Bureau of Standards at Boulder, Colorado, and at the Royal Observatory at Greenwich, England.

They are both considered accurate to better than one-millionth of a second per year.

The clock at Boulder ticks five microseconds faster per year than the one at Greenwich, England.   Which one is correct? They both are!

The atomic clock at Boulder is located at an altitude of 5400 ft. above sea level.

The one at Greenwich is only 80 ft. above sea level.

The difference is caused by the measurable factor of gravity.

In 1971, J. C. Hafele and Richard Keating sent four cesium clocks around the world. The clocks on the eastward trip returned 59 nanoseconds behind the ones remaining at rest at the U.S. Naval Observatory.

The clocks on the westward trip were 273 nanoseconds ahead.

Accounting for the Earth’s rotation and other gravitational effects, this was precisely what Einstein’s formulas predicted.

Six Days?

Our problem with the “six days” of creation is not confined to Genesis Chapter 1.

Our real problem is highlighted in Exodus 20:11:

For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Clearly, the Lord intends us to understand the Creation Week to be comprised of six days as we understand them. The Scripture is very explicit on its forthrightness:

Prov 8:8  All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them.  9  They are all plain straightforward to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.

The Stretch Factor

Cosmologists those that construct conjectures about the origin of the universe from physical evidences

readily acknowledge that the universe had a beginning:

a “singularity” from which matter, energy, time, and space all had their beginning.

The various mathematical models attempting to compile what we think we know about physical laws are assembled under the various Big Bang theories:

“First there was nothing—and then it exploded”

It is the incredible expanse that leads to the difficulties in reconciling the astronomical distances with time as we know it here on the earth.

The Laws of Thermodynamics

The 1st Law, is the Law of Conservation of matter and energy.

This law states that energy may neither be created nor destroyed it can change form

It is the 2nd Law, the Law of Entropy systems run down, which is especially profound since it, among other things, establishes the direction of time.

It is also evidence that the universe had a definite beginning.

Heat always flows from hot bodies to cold bodies.

If the universe was infinitely old, the temperature throughout the universe would be uniform.

It isn’t; therefore, it isn’t infinitely old.

It had a beginning.

And it is destined for an ending.

Stretching the Heavens

Is the vacuum of space really empty?

What is the firmness of the “firmament”?

According to the Scriptures, the heavens can be:

Stretched / Torn / Worn out / Shaken / burnt up / split apart / rolled up

2 Sam 22:10  He bowed   bent / Psa 18:9 / Psa 144:5 the heavens also, and came down; and darkness was under his feet.

Job 9:8  Which alone spreadeth smooth, wavy out the heavens, and treadeth upon the waves of the sea.

Job 26:7 Jer 10:12  He stretcheth thin, thick out the north gloomy unknown over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing.

Psa 102:25  Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands.  26  They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed:

Psa 104:1  Bless the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty.  2  Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain fabric of space:

Isa 34:4 2 Pet 3:12   And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll hyper dimensionally / Rev 6:14  : and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falleth off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree.

Isa 40:22 Isa 42:5 / Isa 44:24  It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in: temporary

Isa 48:13  Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned   press with the palm width the heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together.

Hag 2:6  For thus saith the LORD of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake undulate the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land;

Heb 12:26  Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake rock not the earth only, but also heaven.

2 Pet 3:12  Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

You know the most unique thing about fabric?
It has to have a design and a designer!
Velocity of Light

What about the velocity of light?

Is it really a constant as most physicists have been taught?

Or has it, too, been changing as a result of Genesis 3?

Measurements of the velocity of light:

17th century: Johannes Kepler, Rene  Descartes, et al., believed light was instantaneous and infinite.  Evidence today suggests light is slowing down.

1677: Olaf Roemer measured the elapsed time between eclipses of Jupiter with its moons, yielding a finite speed of light. Controversies continued for 50 years.

1729: James Bradley confirmed Roemer’s work.

In over 300 years, the speed of light has been measured 164 times by 16 different methods showing that the speed of light is slowing down.

Atomic vs. Orbital Time
2 ways to tell time

Before 1967: 1 sec = 1/31,556,925.9747 of one earth orbit around the sun.

After 1967: 1 sec = 9,192,631,770 oscillations of the cesium-133 atom.

However, if atomic clocks are “correct”: the orbital speeds of Mercury, Venus, and Mars are increasing.

If the gravitational constant is truly constant i.e. if Orbital clocks are right, atomic vibrations and the speed of light are decreasing.

Orbital Clocks are Favored

If a planet’s orbital speed increased it would violate the 1 & 2nd laws of thermodynamics in the conservation of energy.

If atomic clocks are correct, the gravitational “constant” should change.

No such speed increases have been detected.

This of course brings us back to Genesis 1:14

Gen 1:14  And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

Isa 44:24  Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;  25  That frustrateth the tokens of the liars, and maketh diviners mad; that turneth wise men backward, and maketh their knowledge foolish;  26  That confirmeth the word of his servant, and performeth the counsel of his messengers;

So as we reflect on The Creator, The Creation & The Created who “stretches the heavens,” we are also reminded of Psalm 19

Psa 19:1  To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth his handiwork.  2  Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night showeth knowledge.  3  There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.  Rom 1:20  For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

Gen 1:1  In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
