There is a lot of Bible interpretation going on today. People want to know what the Bible says, they
want to know what it means.
To this issue we will speak briefly today.
The Bible is not to be interpreted, the Bible is to be believed.
God is capable of saying exactly what he wants to say and he does.
2 Pet 1:20Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
The problem with interpretation is that everybody has one. When everybody has one then you have to
decide which one is right.
When YOU have to decide which one is right YOU become the final authority and final authority rests
with God and his word NOT you or me.
The reason there are so many different denominations and thereby "churches" today is because
everyone has an interpretation. Interpretation is needed when the word of God violates some man's doctrinal
statement.
You do not change the word of God you change your doctrinal statement!
