Obey Acts 2:38?

OBEY ACTS 2:38? The water dogs are back at it again! I keep seeing bumper stickers that say “obey Acts 2:38” all around town. These poor mislead folks have been taught that they need a Hebrew water rite to take away their sins. Even a cursory reading of Acts 2 should be enough for anyone to understand that this command is written to and for the nation of Israel! Acts 2:22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words;… Acts 2:36 Therefore let all the house of Israelknow …. This is just another example of a failure to “rightly divide the word of truth” according to 2Timothy 2:15! We are not saved today by a Hebrew water rite but by the precious blood of Christ. The apostle Paul, the apostle to the Gentiles, writing in the dispensation of the grace of God, makes this clear when he says: 1 Cor 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

It is also informative to note that in 1Cor.1:17 Paul says “… Christ sent me not to baptize” a statement that the Hebrew’s Apostle Peter could never say. Obey Acts 2:38? Not today in the “dispensation of the grace of God !”
