Preaching The Grace Of God
From The King James Bible – Dispensationally Delivered

God is the model of character!
This election year (2000) is indicative of the loss of the moral fiber of our country. We should not
be surprised. With so many compromises and corruption of the gospel of the grace of God the church has
failed to civilize this current generation.
The moral fiber of the church too has dropped and hence this study on the ultimate character, that
of God the Father and creator and ultimately our judge.
True character is not determined by the changing values of society; it is measured by the absolute
standard of who God is and what He is like. Your character, as a grace believer, is the assimilation
and expression of God's likeness. You were created to bear his image! And as such we need to know what
his traits and characteristics are.
Know God's traits, seek to conform your character to His
God is true and honest
An honest man is the noblest work of God.
Honest: Characterized by integrity or fairness and straightforwardness in conduct, thought,
speech, etc.; upright; just; equitable; trustworthy; truthful; sincere; free from fraud, guile, or duplicity;
not false; -- said of persons and acts, and of things to which a moral quality is imputed; as, an honest
judge or merchant; an honest statement; an honest bargain; an honest business; an honest book; an honest
confession.
Synonyms -- Upright; ingenuous; honorable; trusty; faithful; equitable; fair; just; rightful; sincere;
frank; candid; genuine.
Luke 8:15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having
heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.
Acts 6:3 Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full
of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.
Rom 12:17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight
of all men.
2 Cor 8:21 Providing for honest things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the
sight of men.
2 Cor 13:7 Now I pray to God that ye do no evil; not that we should appear approved, but
that ye should do that which is honest, though we be as reprobates.
Phil 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest,
whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things
are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
God is loving and compassionate
Seeing others as well as myself as God sees
COMPASSIONATE, a. Having a temper or disposition to pity; inclined to show mercy; merciful;
having a heart that is tender, and easily moved by the distresses, sufferings, wants and infirmities
of others.
Rom 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners,
Christ died for us.
Eph 2:4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) 6
And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: 7 That
in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through
Christ Jesus.
2 Cor 1:3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies,
and the God of all comfort; 4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be
able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted
of God.
God is forgiving and merciful
Pardoning; remitting
MER'CIFUL, a. [from mercy.] Having or exercising mercy; compassionate; tender; disposed to
pity offenders and to forgive their offenses; unwilling to punish for injuries; applied appropriately
to the Supreme being.
2 Pet 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is
longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
1 Tim 2:3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; 4 Who will have
all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and one
mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be
testified in due time.
Eph 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for
Christ's sake hath forgiven you. 5:1 Be ye therefore followers of God, as
dear children;
God is trustworthy and faithful
Anyone who knows me will be able to trust me

Constant in the performance of duties or services; exact in attending to commands; as a faithful servant.
Observant of compact, treaties, contracts, vows or other engagements; true to one's word. A government
should be faithful to its treaties; individuals, to their word.
True; exact; in conformity to the letter and spirit; as a faithful execution of a will.
True to the marriage covenant; as a faithful wife or husband.
Conformable to truth; as a faithful narrative or representation.

True; worthy of belief. 2Tim. 2.
1 Th 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit
and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 Faithful is he
that calleth you, who also will do it.
1 Cor 1:9 God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus
Christ our Lord.
Titus 1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world
began;
God is just and impartial
I will not judge based on race, place or face
JUST, The primary sense is probably straight or close, from the sense of setting, erecting,
or extending
Regular; orderly; due; suitable.
Not partial; not biased in favor of one party more than another; indifferent; unprejudiced; disinterested;
as an impartial judge or arbitrator.
Not favoring one party more than another; equitable; just; as an impartial judgment or decision; an
impartial opinion.
Luke 20:21 And they asked him, saying, Master, we know that thou sayest and teachest
rightly, neither acceptest thou the person of any, but teachest the way of God truly:
Gal 2:6 But of these who seemed to be somewhat, (whatsoever they were, it maketh no matter
to me: God accepteth no man's person:) for they who seemed to be somewhat in conference added
nothing to me:
Rom 5:6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died
for the ungodly.
God is holy
God is HOLY and he wants me to be also
HOLY - Properly, whole, entire or perfect, in a moral sense. Hence, pure in heart, temper or dispositions;
free from sin and sinful affections. Applied to the Supreme Being, holy signifies perfectly pure, immaculate
and complete in moral character; and man is more or less holy, as his heart is more or less sanctified,
or purified from evil dispositions. We call a man holy, when his heart is conformed in some degree to
the image of God, and his life is regulated by the divine precepts. Hence, holy is used as nearly synonymous
with good, pious, godly.
Rom 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present
your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind,
that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Eph 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should
be holy and without blame before him in love:
Eph 5:27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle,
or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
Conclusion
Eph 5:1 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; 2 And walk in love,
as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God
for a sweetsmelling savour. 3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once
named among you, as becometh saints; 4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which
are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. 5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor
unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and
of God. 6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God
upon the children of disobedience. 7 Be not ye therefore partakers with them. 8 For ye were sometimes
darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
Contrary to the crowd - character counts! Contrary to society - character counts!
Contrary to situation ethics - character counts! Contrary to our wants - character counts!
I trust this short study will encourage you to emulate your daddy's character!
